The Newtown Meeting House is located 1 mile west of Exit 10, I-84, on the southwest corner of the intersection of Main Street (Route 25) and West Street, just west of the flagpole (see map below). There is an identifying sign on the front lawn. Directions from points East and West follow.
FROM EAST OF NEWTOWN, CT
Travel WEST on I-84 through Danbury to
Exit 10 (Newtown). At end of off-ramp, turn RIGHT onto Church Hill Road
(Rte 6), go approx. 1 mile (through 3 traffic lights) to top of hill
and flagpole. The Newtown Meeting House is directly across Main St.
FROM WEST OF NEWTOWN, CT
Travel EAST on I-84 to Exit 10
(Newtown). Turn LEFT at end of off-ramp onto Church Hill Rd. (Rte 6),
go approx. 1 mile (through 3 traffic lights) to top of hill and
flagpole. The Newtown Meeting House is directly across Main Street.
PARKING
In addition to parking in front of teh Meeting House and on-street parking, overflow parking is provided at the Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main Street, one-half block NORTH of Meeting House, in a paved and marked lot. A cement sidewalk runs south along Main Street to the Meeting House.
PARKING FOR COMMUNITY OPC EVENTS AT THE MEETING HOUSE IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE COURTYARD BEHIND 33 MAIN STREET.
